What gift should we give to our families for planning such a wonderful wedding & reception?
I was married on St. Patrick’s Day! The day was absolutely perfect. The location was in a gorgeous flower & rose garden & delightful breakfast reception. We spent two wonderful days at a cabin in Lake Mormon (near Flagstaff, AZ) that belongs to a close family member of mine (moms first cousin). We gave up our dream wedding at Paris Las Vegas to get married here in Phoenix, AZ. My sister in law is on bed rest, because she’s pregnant with triplets. There was no way we we’re going to get married without her.
Me and my husband we’re driving back to Phoenix earlier this morning, and we we’re trying to figure out how to thank our families for making our wedding day so wonderful. Does anyone have any ideas?
A great gift would be a homemade scrapbook of all the pictures from the wedding and reception with personalized letters and phrases written in it thanking them and appreciating them for all they did, make it personal.
why do grandparents always think they have right to grandkids?
I read so many posting about grandparent right.
I think it is a crock b/c if someone does not want the grandparents near their child the grandparent should leave the family alone. i do not like my mother in law at all. she is a crazy bitch and she know better than get my daughter.
So my question why can’t the grandparents leave the kid and grand kid alone.
their kids are gone, grown up, moved out, and they see the grandkids as an extension of themselves, that their family will continue even when they are gone. they also don’t have to raise them, so they can “spoil them and send them home”. yes a lot of grandparents seem to think they deserve the right to the children whenever they want, which is totally wrong. a lot of grandparents are probably going to be a bad influence on the kids, especially if they were irresponsible as parents. a lot of grandparents seem to not be able to see their kids as grown up enough to raise children so they think they can butt in whenever they want. i don’t think a lot of the grandparents rights cases actually win in courts, but i have never really looked into it. people can judge you, but you have your reasons for keeping your kids away from their grandparents. if it is just because you don’t get along with her, that is petty, but if there is more reason than that, well your kids safety is #1 priority….

I plan to buy a home. I am married but getting divorced. Can I buy a home now or it’ll be a mutual property?
In other words I’ve just had my case filed with a superior court to get divorced. My husband left me and moved to a different country so I’m getting divorced by publication. It may take at least 6 months to get divorced. But I plan to buy a home and wondering if I can buy and register this home as my own property. Or it’ll still be one of those assets that we bought during our marriage period and that’s why will have to get separated as everything we bought together? Is there any way I can do that now. Or I’ll have to wait intil I’m officially divorced? Thank you!
Wait until you are divorced. Courts like to maintain the status quo. It is called in latin, which they love to speak, “Pende Lite” which means, “Pending litigation”. That’s why I waited until I was divorced to participate in my 401K retirement plan. Until you are actually divorced, you are still legally bound to him. Buying a house now could complicate your divorce, dragging it out, and costing you additional legal fees. In my case, I found that the simple act of buying a car while I was separated but not yet legally divorced, caused me to have to defend her claim of getting a piece of the new car. So, what do you think would happen if you decide to make a MAJOR investment in a house, while you are not yet divorced. Attactive as the house may be, you are just asking for MAJOR trouble and misery, in my opinion. This simple advise is something that any divorce lawyer would tell you. So now, I wonder if you even have one. I think not. So, if this is the case, then you should get one immediately, in my opinion.
